Active Standby

Look what I’ve found, Share Online 3.0 has a active standby plugin:

Nokia, don’t waste active standby plugins on things like this, just make an api, and put that organizing feature from Eseries in every S60, I couldn’t care less about the search shortcut, but would love a email preview.

Edit: One more :P

I wish we could have additional phone status info on the active standby, for example Cell ID because it disappears when active standby is in use.

GPS co-ordinates would be nice when using a Bluetooth GPS unit or if you have an N95 with GPS turned on.

I cannot find active standby plugin anymore in their website. After using E65 which had active standby plugin, where I could view my emails on the phone’s desktop; it is becoming hard now without that feature in my newly bought N95 8GB!

    Hi,
i am a loyal nokia customer right from the start. Especially when they released the E-series. my last three mobile-phones: E61, E50, E65, and currently i own the most adorable E51. the main reason i am not jumping to N-series is this addiction of seeing my missed-call notification, new sms notification and the new email notifiction right on the active standby screen. and the little notification LED makes it just more addictive, real business class.

N-Series doesnt have this feature. i was really expecting this in the new Symbian S60-FP2 release. Yet again its disappointing.

i just wish they release a new Firmware Upgrade or a third party software for ACTIVE STANDBY PLUGINS for the N-series lineup, or at least for the S60-FP2…

Nokia if you are reading this, i want you to realize how important these PLUGINS have become in daily life for people like me and i for one, really wish to have this feature on the N-series device like N96…

I totally agree with you. Nokia should really make full use of it. I want inbox on my active standby so badly…
